Process - InNitro

The right nitro is just one of many elements of the puzzle. The entire process is key: from wood preparation, through painting, to finishing. That is why we carry it out in accordance with the old manufacturer’s technique and with attention to historical correctness, always remembering to use the right components.

Preparation

We start by disassembling all the components and securing the critical areas of the instrument.

Paint removal

Depending on the instrument, we remove paint using different methods. Before painting, we prepare the wood surface by grinding. This is how we get rid of unwanted substances from the wood, e.g. some fats that cause the paint to become flecked.

Filler

We fill the pores of the wood with filler, which also highlights its beautiful grain.

Nitro

We first paint properly prepared wood with a nitro sealer, then the target color, and finally with clear top coats. We do not use any other paints - all work is done exclusively using the 100% nitro technique.

Sanding

The "orange peel" that appears on every painted surface is leveled by sanding with several grits of sandpaper.

Buffing

We polish the even surface to a high gloss to make the guitar look like new.

Finish

Depending on the customer's choice, we finish the guitar in three basic options: Factory Gloss, Played & Used or Aged. You can find a description of each in the FINISHES tab.
